WELCOME TO THE WILLIAM AND MARY SAILING TEAM
Founded in 2003, we are a competitive member of the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association. We compete against both club and varsity teams in our region, which extends from the southern VA border up through New York State along the eastern seaboard.
As a club, we welcome all who love sailing and anyone interested in learning! Don’t worry if you don’t know a mainsheet from a mizzenmast; if you want to learn, we want to teach you. We also welcome the chance to talk to you, either in person or via email. Check out our Contact Us page to get in touch!
Come join us, or at least check out our website for weekly results throughout our fall season (September-November) and spring season (February-May).
If you are a supporter, alumni, parent of a William and Mary sailor, a member of the Williamsburg, VA community, or a potential sailor and want to receive weekly updates by email, please email .

So somehow you’ve stumbled upon the W&M Sailing Team, either through the club fair or reached out to our recruitment chairs, or some other way. But what is Tribe Sailing? What are they all about, what do they do? This page will hopefully give you some answers, but the best way is to reach out to a teammate! Feel free to go to the executive board page! We’re friendly and always looking to make new friends and share the team that we love!
Here are a few general facts about us:

Open to all skill levels
Fleet of 12 Flying Juniors (FJs)
Practices offered Mon-Fri, 15 mins from campus
Regattas on weekends for competitors (basically a series of about a dozen short races between a bunch of schools in the area; the usual crowd includes Hampton, CNU, UVA, VA Tech, UMBC, Maryland and others!)
Keelboating (big boat) opportunities too!
Dues are $120/semester OR $200/year, and they go towards the day to day running of the team including van rentals for practice, rent to our marina where boats are kept, and payments to our official sailing association, M.A.I.S.A.
